Hello friends,
I’m happy to announce that my poem “Gotas de Sangre (Blood Drops)” is featured in the anthology Birds Fall Silent in the Mechanical Sea released by the New York City based publisher great weather for MEDIA.
Here’s a little snippet of the piece:
Even after Grandpa lacked the strength
To speak, or breathe—
When his eyes were taped shut
Because they wouldn’t close—
Before he died,
And his veiny hands
Rolled off the hospital sheets
As cracked pomegranates—
Beautiful, purple, delivered—
Open for birds to eat out of:
They could no longer show me
Right from wrong,
As the strongest man I knew
Was finally at rest.
