I like this poem and you raise an interesting question. What did God do after he rested following the seventh day? Perhaps he said, “I can do better,” and moved to another spot in the Galaxy.

I agree. I love revisiting moments in literature, history and myth that usually go unquestioned. I like the “I can do better” idea. Humans may have intelligent siblings in a another pocket of the universe… 🙂 Thanks for reading, my friend.

I adored the poem! I had never thought of the story of Genesis that way and it gave me a completely different view on how this writing of the Bible could be interpreted.

Thank you for your lovely comment. Having been raised in the church, I have a certain intrinsic familiarity with the stories in the Bible; I feel as though they are my story. In particular, I want to flesh out the female characters in the Bible, as we don’t really know what most of them thought or felt as well as we do for some of their male counterparts.
