Football or fútbol or soccer— as we call it in the US— has been a sport that I’ve always loved, and one that has connected me to my Mexican heritage.
The McNeese Review has been so gracious to publish my piece entitled “Hats Off to (Marcelino) Bernal” which details the emotion and symbolism of a World Cup game in 1994 that inspired so much in a little boy.
