Inquietação

Inquietação – The restlessness of young love.

The sweet-savory of your breath
Encrusts in the juices soaking my beard’s coffee coarse strands.

Each bite elicits a sensation hot enough to warm two bodies,
But once you taste the blood of my fruit, you bite hard and deep.

  1. That was really good! My favourite part was “You seek the reddest, most beautiful strawberry— as a hart a pool of water— to clothe its fuzzy
Nakedness with the motherese of your lips on the bed of your tongue.” I absolutely loved it.
    Thanks for sharing! 🙂
P.S.: I’ve noticed that in the past few months you’ve been posting more and more poems, yet not that many stories. What caused that change? (Just curious)

    1. Thanks for the lovely words. The reason I’ve been writing more poems as opposed to stories is because I’m currently working on my first novel, and want to use all of my prosaic prowess on it. Poems allow me to continue to tell stories, but with a lot more word-painting, and less focus on narrative structure. I’m glad you’re liking them.

      1. Best of luck with your novel! I do truly love your poems. Currently, I am working on gathering all my one-shots into a small book and it’s so much work… Anyways, I can’t wait to read it, once it is finished. 🙂
